Product detailed description
How to Use Numbers When Making Resin Clocks
You can use wooden numbers in resin clocks in two main ways: either cast them into the last layer (they will be "under glass"), or glue them to the finished dial as a plastic element.
1) Resin casting (numbers under the layer)
- Allow the base casting/dial to cure.
- Arrange the numbers roughly and attach them lightly (with a drop of resin or suitable glue).
- Then, pour a thin final layer of clear resin, which will lock the numbers in place and create a smooth surface.
2) Gluing to the finished dial (3D effect)
- After the dial has completely hardened, stick the numbers onto the surface.
- You will get a more pronounced 3D appearance and easy modification options (painting, varnishing).
Practical tips for the best result
- Layout: mark the positions (12/3/6/9) and count the rest in 30° increments - the dial will be accurate.
- Surface treatment: You can leave the plywood natural, varnish it, or paint it with acrylic.
- Contrast: Staining works for light-colored watches, while white/pearl works for dark dials.
Suitable for: hourly dials made of resin, resin art clocks, wood-resin combinations, and creative decorations.
