Ocean palette: turquoise, ultramarine, navy and white
Work with transparent blue tones for depth and with opaque white for foam and whitecaps. Pearlescent pigments add shine to the water's surface, while darker blues create depth. Dosage is important – less is often more.
- Start with a light turquoise near the 'beach', transitioning to a darker blue.
- Activate white with heat to create cells and a wave edge.
- Test shades on a small area beforehand.
