Chameleon pigmnets liquid

Chameleon Liquid Pigments for Resin

Chameleon Liquid Pigments change colour depending on the viewing angle and light incidence. In clear casting resin, they create duochrome/interference transitions and metallic-pearlescent reflections. Great for jewellery, decorations, paintings and accents on table tops. Thanks to their liquid form, they are easy to dose with a pipette and mix evenly.

What makes a chameleon a “chameleon”?

The pigment contains special interference particles that reflect different wavelengths depending on the angle of light and viewing angle. The result is a colour shift (e.g. purple→green, blue→gold) and a distinctive metallic-pearlescent sheen.

Dosage and mixing

  • Recommended amount: usually 1–5% into clear casting resin (start with a smaller dose, the effect is very pronounced).
  • Shake well before use – pearlescent particles may sediment.
  • Mix slowly and thoroughly to avoid bubbles and ensure an even effect.

How to achieve the most striking effect

  • Dark base = stronger shift (black or dark undertones best bring out the chameleon effect).
  • Thin layers and layering – apply in thinner layers and optionally add an accent to another layer for depth.
  • For a “glow” effect, leave part of the mixture clear and use chameleon only in selected zones.
  • You can create a glaze with a micro-amount of pigment on the surface of the finished piece for extra shine.

Compatibility and use

  • Designed for clear epoxy casting systems with sufficient processing time.
  • Suitable for jewellery, pendants, decorations, paintings and table tops (as an accent or thin glaze).
  • Can be combined with other pigments (mica, pearl, glitter) – always test compatibility and layer order.
Warning: Do not exceed the recommended dosage – too much pigment may prolong curing or reduce clarity. Always perform a small test cast.

Practical tips

  • Apply with a pipette for precise dispensing; clean the tip with isopropyl alcohol after use.
  • Avoid overheating with a hot air gun – it can change the viscosity and shift the effect.
  • When working on large surfaces, work in a calm, dust-free environment; cover the piece during curing for a clean surface.
