Diffused pigments
We add colours and powders to the casting resin to colour it. For achieving various effects, we use pigments and colours that are made to create different effects in combination with resin. One of them is 3D Diffusion pigment - alcohol ink. Added polypropylene components in combination with coloured particles create characteristic formations of tubules and small clusters in the casting resin. Diffusion pigments are added to the resin directly from the bottle or using a pipette. Alcohol ink pigments can be mixed together. Silicone moulds are an ideal aid when creating with casting resin and diffusion pigments. AAlcohol ink is a high concentration resin pigment. Thanks to the high concentration and alcohol component of the ink, the pigment added to the resin stays in one place and behaves in a characteristic way. The structural effects are appreciated in the manufacture of resin jewellery or resin decorations. This pigment is easiest to work with in a round silicone mould, hence the name "Petri dish".
TYPES of alcohol inks: Alcohol ink that sinks to the bottom is heavy and is referred to as LOW. This is usually the white component. The second component, also white, is designated as HIGH.It stays on the surface and is lighter. And the remaining colours are arranged in the middle layers.
TYPES of use: Alcohol ink can be used to create effects by dripping it directly into the resin. This is how coral stick effects are created. The second method is applying alcohol ink to fully or partially cured casting resin. This achieves colour transitions and maps. This application technique is suitable, for example, for a resin painting or a resin clock.
Please note: a large amount of ink can degrade the resin or cause it to cure for longer.
