How to achieve clear castings

1. Preparation: rinse the moulds in lukewarm water with mild soap and dry without any fibre residue.
2. Mixing: prepare the resin according to the instructions; mix slowly for minimum bubbles.
3. Pouring: pour in a thin stream; a pipette or syringe will help with narrow cavities.
4. Curing: allow to cure according to the resin manufacturer's recommendations.
5. Finishing: lightly knock off any sharp edges with a fine abrasive, then polish.

Design Tips

• Gradient: Start with a thin, clear layer, then add a coloured mixture for a transition.
• Pearl & Mica: Just a pinch is enough – the facets beautifully amplify the effect.
• Embedded elements: Use small metal flakes, mini flowers or micro glitters sparingly.
• Attachment: An eyelet can be drilled after hardening, or a small pin/eye pin can be inserted during casting.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: lukewarm water + mild soap; do not use abrasives or sharp tools.
• Solvents: no aggressive cleaners; use isopropanol only exceptionally and wipe quickly.
• Storage: flat, away from sunlight and without compression to prevent deformation.
