Resin geodes
Resin geodes are a unique area of creative resin casting work. Resin geodes mimic natural formations, so we can refer to them as resin art. Resin art that mimics these natural Geode formations uses casting resin as its base material - clear epoxy resin. Other materials that are used include crushed glass, natural pebbles, resin pigments and glitter. For novice creators, we can recommend geode creation templates. The template provides adapted natural geode shapes. Stick the template to the work surface, create a border and you can start casting. The created geode can have different colours thanks to the added pigments.
Wikipedia: The basis for the formation of geodes were escaping gases that created bubbles in the cooling rocks, which were subsequently filled with mineral solutions. In some cases, time, temperature, pressure, and other variables were in such balance that geodes were formed. Geodes with crystals occur mainly in volcanic rocks such as basalts and tuffs, but also in carbonate sediments (limestone, dolomites), and more rarely in other environments. As for geodes of volcanic origin, they are formed as a result of the fact that hot lava contains a considerable proportion of volcanic gases. These gases cause the formation of cavities, which are partially or completely filled with various varieties of quartz (amethyst, agate, chalcedony, opal) or other minerals during the solidification of the lava through hydrothermal solutions or groundwater.
