What exactly are you buying?
- Inert (non-functional) cartridge – empty brass cartridge case (variants may include a bullet).
- No active components – contains no powder or primer.
- Suitable for decorations and epoxy – does not corrode, holds well in casting resins.
- Condition – cosmetic abrasions or patina are natural on some pieces (does not interfere with casting).
Why is it suitable for epoxy?
- Stable material – brass and bullet hold their shape, do not warp in volume.
- Easy preparation – the surface can be lightly roughened (fine sandpaper 600–800 grit) for increased resin adhesion.
- Clean appearance – after degreasing and proper epoxy degassing, the cartridge remains beautifully legible.
How to prepare a piece for casting
- Degrease the surface (isopropyl/technical alcohol) and let it dry.
- For better adhesion, lightly roughen invisible surfaces (optional).
- In the first thin layer of epoxy, fix the cartridge, let it gel, and only then cast to the desired height.
- Work at the recommended temperatures and ensure slower curing to minimise bubbles.

Extra tips
- To achieve a 'levitation' effect, secure the cartridge in the first layer and then level the volume.
- For a clean look of the faces and edges of the mould, use gradual pouring (thin layers) and bubble control with warm air.
