Product detailed description
Speed 10-12-600 UV+ casting epoxy resin is a fast-curing, two-component epoxy resin designed for casting with a shortened curing time. Basic UV protection may, over time, manifest as yellowing on products. We recommend it for beginners due to its more favourable price or when using colours and metallic powders.
Advantages:
- Very good self-deaeration
- Perfectly glossy surface after pouring and curing
- Very high hardness after curing
- Low viscosity
- Fast curing
Disadvantages:
- Component B is slightly yellowish
- We recommend using it on coloured products with paint or pigment
For resin products:
- Products with a casting height of up to 10mm
- Keychains: letters, numbers and other shapes
- Resin beds: medallions, pendants
- Coasters: cake stands, coasters
- Boards: board surfaces coated with resin
These moulds can be used for casting:
- Silicone moulds for cake stands and wine racks
- Silicone moulds for trays
- Silicone moulds for coasters
- Silicone mould for key rings (various shapes and smaller letters and numbers)
- Silicone moulds for bookmarks
- Silicone moulds for jewellery
- Bezels and frames
Properties:
- Two-component resin (component A resin / component B hardener)
- UV stable (UV low UV resistance - UV++ high UV resistance)
- Clear, transparent, slightly yellowish in larger volumes
- Density after mixing components A+B 600mPa.s (300mPa.s extra low viscosity - 9000mPa.s extra high viscosity)
- Weight mixing ratio 100:60
- Volume mixed at once 1 litre
- Maximum casting layer height 10mm
- After curing provides high surface and cast hardness, 88 Shore D (56 Shore D medium hard - 90 Shore D very hard)
- Processing time 20 minutes
- Curing time 6-12 hours (depending on ambient temperature and amount of material cast)
- Ideal processing at 22 - 23 °C
- Machining by grinding and polishing
Pigmentation and colouring:
- For transparent colouring, use resin dyes
- For opaque colouring, use resin pigments
- Luminous powder or metallic powder can be added to the resin to give it a specific appearance
- Decorative materials can be added to the resin - glitter, dried flowers and decorative flakes
- Use alcohol inks for special effects
Packaging options:
1kg pack total component A+B 1kg
5Kg pack total component A+B 5kg, 5g pack contains 5x 1kg packs
Warning:
- When pouring porous materials, it is recommended to first seal the surface of these materials with a primer to prevent bubbles from entering the resin during curing
- The processing temperature (mixing, casting) must not fall below 20 °C.
- Temperature fluctuations must not occur during curing - a negative effect on the cured surface.
- The mixing ratio of component A + B is by weight. To maintain the ratio, we do not recommend volumetric measurement; both components must be weighed!
The substance mixture is classified as hazardous (EC) No. 1272/2008
