What it is and what it's used for
- Filler, not dye – the metal particles add an optical metallic effect and weight to the material, but do not “dye” the resin itself.
- Opaque result – the mixture loses its transparency, ideal for contrasting accents, veins and surfaces.
- Suitable for GEODE ART, paintings, coasters, tables and jewellery.
Dosage and mixing
- Start with a small dose, usually 1–5% of the weight of the mixed resin (A+B); add gradually according to the desired effect.
- Mix slowly into the already mixed clear resin to minimise bubbles.
- After mixing, let the mixture stand briefly; heavier particles may sediment – therefore, work in a reasonable layer and processing time.
Tips for appearance
- For veining and lines, pour from a slightly thickened mixture – the metal holds its shape better.
- Combine metallic surfaces with clear or pearlescent zones for depth.
- For a smooth surface, finish with a thin clear layer (“glaze”) after the metal part has hardened.
