Casting epoxy resin DEKORA 50-48-660 clear UV++

DEKORA 50-48-660 is a clear epoxy resin designed for larger decorative castings. It allows casting resin blocks up to 50 mm high, making it suitable for larger cubes, cuboids, orgonites, and other decorations cast in silicone molds or custom-made molds. It also works great in combination with wood and other natural materials that can be sanded and polished after curing.

Thanks to its low viscosity and excellent self-degassing, it flows well into the mold's details and helps minimize the formation of bubbles. After curing, it creates a clear, glossy surface that enhances embedded objects, pigments, and glitter.

• Type: two-component epoxy (component A: resin / component B: hardener),
• optics: clear, glossy after curing,
• density after mixing A+B: approx. 660 mPa·s,
• Mixing ratio: 100 : 40 (by weight, approx. 2.5 : 1),
• recommended volume of mixture at a time: up to 10 l,
• maximum layer height: approx. 50 mm,
• hardness after curing: approx. 80 Shore D,
• processing time: approx. 240 minutes (depending on ambient temperature),
• curing time: approx. 48 hours (depending on temperature and layer thickness),
• Optimal processing temperature: 20–23 °C.

Pigmentation and Colouring

• for transparent coloring use special resins dyes,
• for opaque (covering) effect choose suitable resin pigments,
• luminescent powder, metallic effects, and glitters can be added to the resin,
• for a natural look, you can cast dried flowers, leaves, or other decorative petals,
• for original special effects, we recommend alcohol inks.

Important warning

• temperature during mixing and casting must not drop below 20 °C,
• during curing, stable temperature conditions without significant fluctuations must be ensured,
• always use precise weight measurements – volume measurements are not suitable and can disrupt the correct mixing ratio,
• higher ambient temperature during resin curing reduces the safe maximum height of a single poured layer – for larger volumes, it is advisable to pour in layers.
