Product detailed description

Crystal Resin FLOWERA 100-72-550 UV++ – for dried flowers and beetles

FLOWERA 100-72-550 UV++ is a thin, crystal-clear epoxy resin designed for embedding dried flowers, beetles and other small botanical material. Thanks to its low viscosity, it penetrates details excellently and creates a smooth, highly glossy surface after curing.

Advantages

  • Ultra clear, high resistance to yellowing (UV++)
  • Very good self-degassing
  • Thin – perfectly coats fine details
  • Long working time – comfortable, stress-free work
  • Perfectly glossy surface after pouring and curing

Suitable applications

  • Casting height: up to 100 mm
  • Material: dried flowers (dry matter), beetles, insects, other botanical objects

Recommended moulds

  • Silicone Moulds – Small Decorations: spheres, cubes, smaller 3D shapes, pyramids, crystals, paperweights
  • Silicone moulds – large decorations: large spheres and cubes, larger 3D shapes, pyramids, large letters and numbers

Properties and Technical Parameters

Type Two-component epoxy resin (A – resin / B – hardener)
UV stability UV stable ++
Clarity Ultra Clear
Viscosity after mixing A+B 550 mPa·s (indicative scale: 300 mPa·s = extra low viscosity → 9000 mPa·s = extra high viscosity)
Mixing ratio (by weight) 2 : 1 (A : B)
Mixed volume at once up to 20 l
Max. layer height up to 100 mm
Processing time approx. 18 hours
Curing time approx. 72 hours (depending on temperature and material quantity)
Processing temperature ideally 22–23 °C (do not drop below 20 °C)
Hardness after curing 85 Shore D (for comparison: 56 Shore D = medium hardness, 90 Shore D = very hard)
Finishing sanding and polishing
Tip for perfect castings: Before pouring, seal the pores of porous materials with a suitable sealant (this will prevent bubbles from rising). Mix 2:1 by weight (A:B) and work at a stable temperature without fluctuations.

Pigmentation and Colouring

For transparent colouring, use resin dyes designed for epoxies.

Packaging

  • 1.4 kg (total of components A + B)
  • 0.7 kg (total of components A + B)

Usage notes

  • When pouring porous materials, first seal the surface with a sealant to prevent bubbles from being released during curing.
  • The processing temperature (mixing, casting) must not fall below 20 °C.
  • During curing, do not expose castings to temperature fluctuations – they negatively affect the appearance of the surface.
  • The mixing ratio is by weight. Therefore, always weigh both components (volume measurement is not recommended).
