What it's good for
- GEODE ART – drawing sharp lines and contrasting bands that hold their shape.
- Resin paintings – full opaque surfaces, backgrounds and shape highlights.
- Small castings – coasters, tiered stands, accessories where a rich, opaque shade is needed.
Paste properties
- High concentration – a small amount is enough for full opacity.
- Higher consistency – enables precise lines without unwanted spillage.
- Opaque result – the colour covers the clear base, ideal for contrasts.
Dosage and mixing
- Maximum 5% by weight of mixed resin (A+B). Start with a smaller dose.
- Add in small increments to the already mixed clear resin and mix slowly (fewer bubbles).
- For lines, let the mixture stand briefly to thicken slightly – the flow will be easier to control.
Practical tips
- Combine with metallic/effect pigments for depth (always test compatibility).
- For sharp transitions, use masking tape and remove it before it's fully gelled.
- Overpaint levelled surfaces with a thin clear coat for extra shine and surface protection.
Warning: Do not exceed 5% – too much pigment can extend curing, increase viscosity and affect mechanical properties. Always perform a small test on a sample.
